CURRENT SOLO LEAGUE STANDINGSCURRENT TEAM LEAGUE STANDINGSLeague Schedules

Highlights in the leagues: Week 7

Team League: @ JCB Golf and CC

Recap: The team league championship scramble match play round at JCB came down to the last hole. Travis and Tyler edged out team Tartersauce for the win. Congrats!

Solo League: @ Pebble Beach

Recap: Players were either on it or just not this week as there seems to be many high/low rounds from the difficult little greens at Pebble. Looks like Kyle will get another gross win , but Alex Fitzgerald will pull in the Net victory. Darin Fry gets the CTP with 7'6", and the bonus of least bogeys or worse goes to Kyle Fromer.

Looking Forward: Playoff Time, Double points for the next 2 weeks, and Triple on the Final week. Montreux CC is in Reno Nevada, and plays with elevation so try to have those carry numbers locked in before you start the round. Alot of sand in the landing spots and around the green, so sand saves is the bonus this week. Good Luck.

Highlights in the leagues: Week 6

Team League: @ Braid Hills

Recap: An unexpected W was put up by Jake and Nate shooting an 80 on the difficult Alternate shot round worth triple points. Team Tarter Sauce was the only ones to hit the green on the CTP earning 75 points for just that. Although everybody hates me after having to play these tough conditions for the final round, it was necessary to challenge the flexibility of our game. The top two scorers are set to play a head to head match play scramble; The Coaches vs. Tarter Sauce, to decide who will be taking home the 80% of the $800 pot, and is scheduled for this Thursday the 19th at 6pm. Thank you to everyone who was a part of the Winter Team League!

Solo League: @ Skyglass Hill

Recap: Eric Splichal hits a HOLE IN ONE on the CTP hole #3 (Watch, Like and share here). Darin and Jordan also grabbed some Eagles this week. Challenging greens was definitely the story for the rest of us, with missed putts rolling far away from the hole. JP and Kyle will share the Gross Win while Alex and Lance will split the Net win. Handicaps will be refreshed by tomorrow morning as many of you are seeing yours drop, definitely a good thing!

Looking Forward: DPC Pebble beach has smaller greens that roll off the edges. Best try to stay out of the deep bunkers, and steer clear of the side of the fairway and green that falls towards the ocean to avoid them. Winds will have a slight breeze up to 10 mph., and the driver will be useful to send it this week to make opportunities out of the par 5s. This weeks challenge will be having a clean card to win the bonus having the fewest bogeys or worse.

Highlights in the leagues: Week 5

Team League: @ New England National

Recap: 2 Teams showed up to tie for the best finish with a 68. Congrats to Blake and Connor, and Alex and Ethan on their great finish. Alex and Ethan were also the only ones to hold the green on the CTP on this difficult approach course, racking up a second CTP win in a row.

Looking Forward: The final week of team league competition is at Braid Hills, a shorter Scotland links track that will reward you to stay out of the Deep rough areas traced in red to dodge penalty strokes. The winning team will have to navigate the Hard greens and fairways through the gusty wind blowing between 15 and 25 mph. Being a triple points week there are at least 4 teams in the hunt to finish in the top 2 to compete for the win in the head to head 9 hole match play scramble next week to decide the 80/20 split. Good luck!

Solo League: @ DPC Scottsdale

Recap: At least 10 of you guys were booed on 16, but the closest was Darin Fry sitting at 15'3". A few left to play but it looks like Kyle Fromer will sneak away with another gross win as Levi and Aaron Williams tie for the net win. Darin Fry hit 160 feet of putts to take the bonus.

Looking Forward: DPC Skyglass Hill and Pebble beach are up next. Both courses will be played this weekend for the Pro Am on tour. Although these courses offer the nice vibe of tropical oceanside golf, these courses are not a vacation from the challenging courses we have faced this far. First will be "Skyglass", but conditions are fair and there should be some scoring opportunities for those with their irons sharp.

Highlights in the leagues: Week 4

Team League: @ Bay Harbor Links/Quarry

Recap: Many good rounds played in this weeks scramble at Bay Harbor, but none better than Travis and Tyler shooting a 63. Alex and Ethan were the closest on the CTP at 12'9", snagging the half hour of grind time.

Looking Forward: The shamble this week at New England National is possibly the toughest course we will play this season at just under 6500 yards. A sweet drive goes a long way in this Shamble to open up birdie opportunities, but saving par here may be a more likely scenario on many holes. The winner this week will need to steer clear of trouble off the tee and read the lie variables to have a good approach and snag some birds on these challenging green complexes. Stay dialed throughout the round for the CTP on 18.

Solo League: @ Torrey South

Recap: Well the average score per player went a couple strokes, but high to mid handicappers seem to be reaping the benefit on the longer but open off the tee Torrey Pines South Course. Kyle Fromer crushed it off the tee, hitting 5 fairways averaging an insane 329 off the tee (Winning the Bonus), and accumulating a gross(65) and net(67) win tied with Scott Laham. JP left his birdie putt on the CTP to 5'10" earning a half hour of sim time. Also, Darin Fry and Lance Lawyer had a great week with net scores in breaking 70. Handicaps are updated and rounds considered are highlighted in gold(Top 3 scores of last 5 played). Lets keep grinding for improvement and keep that handicap dropping!

Looking Forward: DPC Scottsdale is home to the popular Waste Management Tournament which we will play alongside later in the week. Fast and Firm greens will be the challenge on this course that demands you place the approach in a safe spot not to roll off the edge. Play out of the desert rough is forgiving if you can miss the trees, and steer clear of the water, and try not to get booed on 16. Best of Luck!

Highlights in the leagues: Week 3

Team League: @ Port Ludlow

Recap: Travis and Tyler pulled a little further away from the pack shooting a 75 with 5 birds on the first Alternate Shot round leaving 3 other teams close in points for the competition for 2nd. Congrats to Reid and Ben winning their second CTP in a row.

Looking Forward: As we move into the next two weeks, scoring doubles for each placement giving opportunity to those that follow to catch up and for those in front to pull way ahead. Preview the courses. Get dialed in before your round to make the difference this week at Bay Harbor Links/Quarry as the breezy bay winds and the difficult pin placements will require it.

Solo League: @ Kauri Cliffs

Recap: On this course you were best off placing the ball in the ideal spot off the tee. Staying off the deep rough hills allowed for an easier approach at the flag from the best angle. This helps to leave your approach shot close to the flag for the easy putt to prevent your score from blowing up on the green. Kyle F.  had the low gross of 66 and 7 birdies + splitting this weeks bonus with Larry Tarter. Chris S. wins the CTP at 12'2" on the short tucked pin. JP, Alex, and Sean scored the bankers points from capitalizing on the most difficult holes.

Looking Forward: Net scoring is now active as handicaps have been established. Over the next 4 weeks, we will be tested playing alongside the Tour as the concede score is moved up to Triple Bogey. Torrey Pines South course has long runway style fairways that will give runout and birdie opportunities to those that can drive it strait off the tee. Longest Average off the tee in the fairway wins the bonus this week (3 or more in fairway). Swing your best!

Highlights in the leagues: Week 2

Team League: @ Legend at Giants Ridge

Recap: Green complexes proved difficult to get putts to fall on this course that was somewhat forgiving off the tee. With an eagle and 7 birds, Travis and Tyler put up a (-9) to swipe this weeks win from Blake and Casey at an impressive (-8) under finish with an eagle themselves. Alex and Ethan also pulled off a 30 point eagle while Reid and Ben secured the CTP with 15'1". 5 teams broke par this Shamble week as the biggest team challenge awaits next playing Alternate Shot.

Looking Forward: Alternate Shot at Port Ludlow will require the winning team to throw darts into these soft greens as this course is compiled of getable alternating doglegs and short par 3s, all weaving through a tall pine forest. No wind, but the midsized sloped greens will test your ability to read the break and leave putts close to the hole.

Solo League: @ St Enodoc

Recap: This course presented more of a challenge around the greens even though it played short leaving the opportunities for birdies minimal. Only 6 players hit the green at #11 with Scott Laham being the closest at 5'7". 3 players will split the 100 point bonus for low score par 3s as nobody was able to beat par of 15 on the 5 long par 3 holes. While there a few players still to submit, it appears K. Fromer and S. Schmaltz will split the gross win tying with a 68 being the only players to beat the demanding 69 par.

Looking Forward: Kauri Cliffs, a Jack Nicholas style design in New Zealand features open links play from the fairways while playing tough from the sloped rough edges. Sand will catch your mishits off the tee but offer risky possibilities to lower your score if you choose to get after it.

Highlights in the leagues: Week 1

Team League: @ Cape Kidnappers

What a week to start the winter leagues, with Zach Whitehead grabbing a rare Hole in 1 on the closest to the pin hole, giving nobody else a chance to grab the free half hour of grind time by landing close. Team Tarter Sauce led the week putting up a clean card 66, closely followed by 4 teams shooting 70 or better on this weeks scramble, guaranteeing a competitive season to come.

Looking Forward: Shamble at Giants Ridge, playing short and gettable on more traditional greens sloping back to front, will require you to keep the ball rolling on the green but left beneath the hole for a forgiving uphill putt. I'm betting the best approach play wins the week.

Solo League: @ Snowshoe

Eric Splichal showed up ready to score with a clean card 66 to take the gross win! JP Beckley was the net points winner with 10 birdies and the best Bankers score. Kyle Fromer wins the ctp, leaving only 7'1" for birdie. Also, E. Splichal and M. Balish will split this weeks bonus with both players keeping the ball in the fairway off the tee 9 times.

Looking Forward: St. Enodoc, in the UK offers interesting looks on this links course. Ball flight will be minimal at Sea Level elevation, but you will get the expected links hard bounce and rollout, but without the windy conditions. Iron game needs to be primo to win this weeks challenge of best score on the par 3s.
